Many doctors do not educate pregnant women on chemicals and toxins that are found in everyday products that they use that could affect their fetus. A nationwide survey has found that 2,600 obstetricians and gynecologists do not educate pregnant women about the chemicals in food that could affect their newborn. They just mostly say to avoid smoking, drinking, and to eat healthy food. They don't tell them about mercury in fish, lead, pesticides, and air pollution. They do not tell their patients about these toxins because it might cause anxiety and their priority is protecting pregnant women from immediate dangers. Research has found that 43 chemicals were in all women. Chemicals like lead, mercury, bisphenol A, flame retardants and more.
Doctors are not educating pregnant women about the dangers that pose a threat to their baby's health. There should be a law that requires the doctor to inform the patient about all of these dangers. If women knew that there is BPA in canned foods they would avoid eating those and reduce their risk of the effects from BPA. If they also tell them sbout mercury in fish and which fish to avoid, then birth defects and disabilities will reduce in the U.S.
